Celebrate the Tribe: Perfect Pops Start with the Perfect Mix

Each perfect pop starts with the perfect mix. The members of our Zieggy Tribe responsible for this very important first step belong to our Quality Assurance department.

Food Scientist Breanna Humphries pulled data from the beginning of October to put this job into perspective. In just one week, the Quality Assurance department across The Ziegenfelder Company’s three locations mixed more than 310,000 gallons of pop formula.

 Their job doesn’t stop there. Members of the Quality Assurance department conduct random audits on bags of product to ensure our customers get the best pops possible. Over that same week cited by Breanna, the Quality Assurance department audited 851 bags of product. They tested more than an additional 500 samples to make sure the mixes and final products meet all food quality standards.

The Quality Assurance department is responsible for writing the processes that keep the Zieggy Tribe following GMPs, or good manufacturing practices. These guidelines are mandated and overseen by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The Quality Assurance team also cleans each machine in the three plants at least once a week.
