Love can blossom when two people least expect it. That’s exactly what happened to Donovan Arriaga, who works at The Ziegenfelder Company plant in Chino, California. Among the sweet smell of ice pop mixes, Donovan met his wife.

“Flor works in the Chino facility as well,” said Donovan. “We were working on the same team and we hit it off right away. Then about 2 weeks later, we went on our first date to the movies.”

The pair married each other this month on the tenth in a small chapel in San Bernadino, California surrounded by their two children, 4-year-old Ely and 1-year-old Sophia, other family members, and friends, who included members of their Zieggy Tribe.

“I take (this job) as a second home kind-of-thing,” said Donovan. “The more you dedicate yourself to your job, the more opportunities that will open up to you. There are always opportunities. As long as you put forth your best effort, there will be opportunities to succeed and grow.”

Donovan is a prime example of that. He started as a packer roughly 4 years ago, and then as opportunities opened up, Donovan kept moving up. He’s been a freezer tech, relief, operator and most recently is the team leader for the overnight shift.

“The most rewarding part is overall team building,” said Donovan. “To have people who like working here, that’s the best part.”
